Guitardogs - The Band New Tricks - Our CD (and our T Shirts) What Guitardogs will do for Money! |
|
Here we go! My Guys! The Band! (For an uncensored pic and the unexpurgated bio of each band member, click on his head. Miss a head dummy, and you get me - HA HA HA! Spike Dog! If you can't figure that out, or don't have JavaScript, I made it simple for ya', use the links below.) Roger 'R-Dog' Biohazard WilliamsA founding member of the Guitardogs Roger loves the blues rock texture of our music - good thing since he wrote and arranged a lot of it. His influences range from the great British guitarists Beck, Clapton, and Page, to Jimi Hendrix. While growing up he gained a unique understanding of slide guitar and electric blues stylings. Ya see, the dude was into all the live Duane Allman and Hendrix he could find. Roger finds vintage Fender guitars and amps irresistible, and lives with his van-sized family on a farm in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Mark 'Lude-dog' LudescherCity Boy. Moved to the country and we let him in. Mark began playing guitar in high school. Shortly after the band was formed 'Lude' joined the 'Dogs' as a replacement bass player. Now, with bass playing responsibilities shared with Roger and Rich, the G'Dogs add a unique dimension to performances by adjusting their style and delivery at will. 'The diverse instrumental, vocal, and song writing talents in The Guitardogs make it,' says Mark. Lude finds the wind in his face a spiritual inspiration. Between gigs he can be seen riding his Harley to his favorite haunts. He lives with his wife Joyce in Perkasie, PA. Rich 'Key-Dog' SchockVeteran Keyboardist Rich Schock is no stranger to the music scene, having started in his first band at the ripe old age of eleven. The 'doctor' was born in Philadelphia and raised in the surrounding suburbs. He still maintains a home in Bucks County, PA. The most talkative (at least in Jimmy's opinion!) of the dogs, Rich is also the band's newest and youngest member. Rich was classically trained, and you can hear this through some of his leads and original songs. His lungs put the icing on the cake and make the 'Dogs one of the strongest vocal bands out there! Don McCormick – DrummerDon has played in the Philadelphia area for 30 years. The many local bands that he has played with include Steve Mackey, the New Deal, John Austin, the Nameless Faces, and blues man Frank Bey and his Swing City Band. He also plays and records children’s music with Steve Pullara and the Cool Beans Band. During hiscareer he has played in the pit bands for various local musical productions and has recorded with various artists at Mad Ferret Studios. He has appeared at the Ambler Cabaret, The Cape May Jazz Festival, Warmdaddy’s, the Wilmington Opera House, and the Kimmel Center among other venues. He has toured with the Nashville casino act Jesse and Judy. Don studied drums with Buddy Depenschmidt – drummer with jazz guitarist Charlie Byrd and Lenny Vinci- Atlantic City casino jazz drummer. He also studied 11 years with Joe Morello of the Dave Brubeck Quartet. The Rest is History! AND, Spike (who likes cats).Been a while gettin to this. Deal with it. I'm a dog of few woids....... I was born in the old abandoned round house down at the rail yard. My Ma was very protective and kept me n' my sibs outta sight, still within ear-shot of them hobos who was jammin' every night around that old fire barrel. So, I guess you could say I was weaned on the Blues. Even as a pup I knew the old 1,4,5, twelve bar wasn't gonna be enough for me, n' before long I was outta there on a search for....I don't know what. I drifted to a few "Open Mike" nights and "Unplugged" performances. Let me tell ya, there's some great musicians around here. But, nobody was focused at what I was sniffin' for.......I just couldn't put my paw on it. They didn't like lettin' dogs in either so I hope they liked the "present" I left 'em on da sidewalk. A couple o' years passed when one night I was trottin' past this place they used to call "The Gliggity Lounge" n' I hears this band rippin' an original tune called Da Da Do Dat. A couple bars of that and I knew "Dis Dog's Gotta ROCK". So, I scratched at the door and in a New York minute, talked them into a publicity, management position. I told them I knew this dame named Betty who would pose for the cover of their "New Tricks" CD. (some babes will do anything for a biskit)
